A former Carmel police officer and town councilman has been charged in the death of a Somers teaching assistant during a car crash Nov. 14, according to lohud.com. According to state police, Richard O'Keefe, 57, of Mahopac, faces felony second-degree vehicular manslaughter in the three-car accident on Route 6 that killed Fran Ghelarducc, reported lohud.com.
