Somers Girl, 7, To Perform In 'The Wizard Of Oz' At Tarrytown Music Hall

A 7-year-old Somers girl is set to be one of more than 100 local performers featured in the Random Farms Kids' Theater's production of "The Wizard of Oz." Hailey Mueller is to play the role of a Lullaby League Munchkin and Child of Oz in Cast B, according to a statement from the theater, which noted that the show is to run from Friday, July 29 - Saturday, Aug. 6. Mueller's previous experience includes roles as the Gingerbread Witch in "Hansel and Gretel," and Mae Peterson in "Bye Bye Birdie," according to her mother, Amanda Mueller.

Two Somers High School students have been charged in connection with vandalism that involved aa fleet of school buses earlier this year at the Somers High School, state police said Wednesday. Following a lengthy investigation conducted by Investigator David Ruderfer, it was determined that the two caused more than $29,000 worth of damage to approximately 43 school buses that resulted in the Somers Central School District cancelling classes on Jan. 4. The students slashed bus tires, shattered bus windows and discharged fire extinguishers, police said.

State Police Charge Five With DWI In Westchester Patrols

State Police charged five motorists with driving while intoxicated this past weekend throughout Westchester County, including on the Taconic State Parkway and I-684. Louis G. Russo, 40, of Yorktown Heights was by State Police from Somers charged with DWI, a Class E felony on Friday, June 10. Troopers stopped Russo on State Route 118 for speeding and failure to maintain his lane of travel, state police said.
