SOMERS, N.Y. The family of a Somers Eagle Scout candidate is asking for the community's help Saturday as volunteers work to reinstall the Howitzer Cannon at the Ivandell Cemetery. Philip McDermott's Eagle Scout project requires the excavation of the gravel garden so the restored Howitzer Cannon can be reinstalled near the Veterans Memorial, according to an announcement sent out by the Somers Chamber of Commerce.
