A rapidly moving brush fire threatened homes on David Road in Somers and burned several acres before firefighters were able to put it out Wednesday, April 20, according to a report on lohud.com The blaze started off Lovell Street and spread to within 50 feet of some of the homes, lohud.com said. A combination of low relative humidity, strong winds and warm temperatures can create conditions ideal for the sparking of brush fires, the weather service said.
