From Legacy.com: Charlotte M. Gavaghan, an 83-year resident and retired long-time Somers Town Cler, passed away on Dec. 5. She was 93. Gavaghan was nominated to run for Town Clerk in the November 1945 general election at the age of 26. She was elected and served in that position for 44 years until her retirement in July 1990.
