With Operation Safe Stop - a crackdown on motorists that fail to stop for school buses - scheduled for Thursday, state police in Northern Westchester County got a head start by conducting a special school enforcement detail on Tuesday. On Tuesday, April 25, state police conducted the enforcement detail in and around schools in Lewisboro, North Salem and Somers, leading to a total of 35 tickets for motorists in those districts for various violations.
