A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for late Thursday afternoon in Fairfield County and Westchester County, the National Weather Service said. At 5:08 p.m., the weather service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.
