Former Somers resident Nina Mansfield's debut young adult mystery novel, "Swimming Alone," will be released by Fire & Ice Young Adult and New Adult Books, an imprint of Melange Books, on Aug. 27. Mansfield is a graduate of the Somers Central School District, which she attended from kindergarten to 12th grade. She began her writing career as a playwright; she has written numerous plays, which have been produced throughout United States and in Canada, Australia, England, Ireland and Peru.
